Music from
Málaga & Tokyo.

sombradirectory is a cinematic crossover duo based in Málaga and Tokyo. The name combines sombra, the Spanish word for “shadow”, with the English word “directory”: a directory of shadows.

German singer, lyricist, composer and producer Silvester Wehmer founded the project in 2022 after moving to Málaga. He had already spent 19 years in music production and began developing a sound that combined orchestral arrangements with heavy electronics, metal and darkwave.

Storytelling shapes the music. A song may bring German and Japanese lyrics together, or put rap alongside an orchestral arrangement. The choice of language and sound follows the story.

In 2026, Wehmer began working with Tokyo-based singer and lyricist Nanami Yamamoto. After their second track together, she joined sombradirectory permanently, turning the solo project into a duo.

Together, they handle the lyrics, composition, vocals, production and sound engineering.
